Summer access to the Career Center

Updated: May 5

All summer you have options to connect to the Career Center including 1-on-1 appointments, drop in hours, webinars, virtual tools and online resources.

Meet 1-on-1 with your Career Coach by scheduling an appointment on Handshake. All appointments are hosted virtually and you can select a phone appointment or zoom meeting. A wide range of days and times are available and slots are open all summer.

Career Lab - Drop in Hours

Drop in Tuesday - Thursday between noon - 2:00 pm, to talk with a Career Coach. No appointment needed. Use the Handshake events tab to find each day's zoom link and instructions. Feel free to request resume reviews, cover letter edits, job or internship search questions, interview prep discussions and many other career tasks. This is an opportunity for you to work directly with your career coach for customized help for your career plan and next steps.

Virtual Events

Employers and the Career Center will offer webinars and virtual events that cover a wide range of topics, including job and internship searching. Find details on the Handshake events tab for all the upcoming events, which include zoom links, guest speakers and event descriptions. Past webinars are available via the Hire Lehigh YouTube channel.

Watch your email for newsletters, sent throughout summer. We will be sharing industry highlights, information from alumni and recruiting partners, career articles and information about upcoming events and expiring jobs from Handshake. These will both share events happening now, but also prepare you for what recruitment season will look like during Fall 2021.

Pre-health/Pre-law Resources

Students who are pursuing pre-health or pre-law should continue to log into coursesite for information and can schedule appointments with their Career Coach on Handshake.

Handshake - job and internship postings

We will continue to post jobs and internships to the Handshake job board. Be mindful of expiration dates, but we encourage you to keep applying to positions of interest. Additional opportunities for micro-internships are also available on Parker Dewey and Paragon One.

Handshake Resource page

Tiles for resumes, cover letters, interviewing, LinkedIn, digital portfolios and many others are on the Handshake resource page. Review the page for helpful guides, tutorials, examples and other tools to help you get started on a wide range of career tasks.

Check out two new tiles to support the needs of students during the pandemic.

The COVID-19 tile has information about what industries and companies are hiring, links to help you build specific skills this summer and details on how to shape plan B.

The Remote Internships tile has links to multiple job boards, employers and options for exploring and applying to remote positions.

Lehigh Connects - Alumni network

Lehigh Connects is an alumni network where students can browse thousands of Lehigh alumni profiles, all who have volunteered to help students explore career options and prepare for life after Lehigh. Send messages to ask for information and advice on your job search or career plan. This is a great way to build your network and identify alumni in positions, companies or industries of interest. Job shadowing may be limited this summer but Lehigh Connects supports virtual informational interviews and gives you direct communication tools to find and talk with someone who can help you with your career plan.

Connect with a Career Coach

The career coaching team works in a liaison model, to best serve unique Lehigh student populations. Reach out to your coach anytime.
